Join SETpoint as we explore ways to enhance personal safety through the basics of Empowerment Self Defense (ESD). ESD is a holistic self defense strategy that diverges sharply from traditional notions of self defense. Grounded in academic research, an ESD curriculum offers a multi-faceted perspective that provides a powerful, coordinated, and preventative approach to reducing sexual assault and gender-based violence.  SETpoint’s coaching philosophy is trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and inclusive.

In outdoor workshop, we'll introduce core components of ESD, including:

· Situational Awareness: learning to recognize unhealthy behaviors and situations;

· Boundary Setting through voice and stance;

· Effective concepts for Physical Resistance; and

· Survivor Advocacy and Resources.
