The student has asked you to provide this recommendation because they would like to become a peer tutor for Study Lab. Peer tutors must have a high level of content mastery and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

For any students interested in becoming tutors, they must have earned at least an B+ or higher (some exceptions may apply) in the course they wish to tutor. In order to ensure the quality of our tutoring program, we also require that students who are interested in tutoring have a recommendation by the professor they had in the course or by another professor qualified to judge their competency in the course material. Once we receive the recommendation, we will contact the student to set up an interview if they appear to be a qualified candidate for courses we are currently hiring for. If hired, all tutors must complete CRLA certified training.
